Koch & Co. · Size Guide

Sizes disagree.
Centimetres don't.

Every brand numbers its shoes differently. So we start from the one thing that never changes: the length of your foot.

01 · How our sizing works

Built on your foot,
not a number.

An Adidas 42 is not a Nike 42, and neither is a Koch 42. That isn't carelessness on anyone's part: every maker builds on different lasts, for different purposes. Sneakers are cut roomy for movement; a Goodyear welted dress shoe is built close, to hold its shape for decades.

So we size by foot length in centimetres. Each Koch size corresponds to a precise foot measurement, and everything else in this guide is simply a translation from shoes you already own.

The reference point
A Koch 42 is built for a 26.5cm foot.
In sneaker terms, that is roughly an Adidas EU 42.5 (UK 8 / US 9) or a Nike EU 41.5 (UK 7 / US 8). Every other size follows the same logic, in even steps.
02 · The surest way

Measure your foot in
two minutes.

01
Stand on paper
Place a sheet of paper against a wall. Stand on it with your heel touching the wall, wearing the socks you'd wear with dress shoes.
02
Mark your longest toe
Mark the tip of your longest toe on the paper. It isn't always the big one.
03
Measure in centimetres
Measure from the edge of the paper to your mark. Do both feet, in the evening if you can, when feet are at their largest. Use the longer measurement.
04
Find your Koch size
Match your measurement to the chart below. Between two sizes? Choose the larger one. Leather settles to your foot; a squeezed toe never does.
03 · The chart

Your size, three
ways to find it.

Use your foot measurement if you have it. If not, find the sneakers you wear most and read across.

Brand equivalents are approximate: sneaker fits vary by model. Foot length is the measurement we build to, and the one to trust first.

If you remember one thing
Your Koch size is your Adidas size minus a half, or your Nike size plus a half.
04 · How they will feel

Snug first, then
yours.

A Goodyear welted shoe fits differently from a sneaker, by design. Expect a close, held feeling in the first weeks. Full grain leather stretches and moulds to your foot with wear, and the cork insole gradually takes the impression of your sole: a fit no sneaker foam can imitate.
