The shoes themselves.
+What construction do you use?
All of our shoes are constructed using the Goodyear welting process. The nature of this construction means that Goodyear welted shoes take longer to manufacture than cheaper alternatives, and require highly skilled labour.
+What leather do you use?
All our shoes are handmade using the finest full grain leather. Every material is handpicked and carefully selected to ensure premium quality.
+What shoe components do you use?
+How do I know my size?
We size by foot length in centimetres: a Koch 42 fits a 26.5 cm foot, roughly an Adidas EU 42.5 or a Nike EU 41.5. As a rule of thumb, your Koch size is your Adidas size minus a half, or your Nike size plus a half.

+How do I care for my shoes?
While all of our shoes are made using the highest quality leather, it is still advised to treat them like any other dress shoe. We recommend polishing regularly with our complimentary shoe balm to keep them in excellent condition.
+Can I resole my shoes?
Yes. All of our shoes can easily be resoled: that is the point of Goodyear welted construction. When the sole wears out, the shoe carries on.
+Will my shoes look exactly like the website photos?
Each pair of our shoes is unique and made by hand, which means the colour and finish may vary slightly from shoe to shoe. We personally quality check each pair before delivery to ensure it meets our strict QC guidelines.

+How long will my shoes take to arrive?
We believe in the slow fashion movement and our shoes are made to order. The majority of our shoes ship within 2 weeks of your order. On the lucky rare occasion that your particular size is in stock, we may ship it within 2 business days. In certain unforeseen circumstances, we may expect a delay for a few days, in which case we will contact you promptly to keep you updated about the status of your freshly constructed pair of shoes.
+What payment methods do you accept?
For Indian customers, we currently use Razorpay checkout for all payment methods.
+How do I manage returns?
As long as the shoes are unworn, you can return or exchange them free of charge within 30 days of receiving your order. Write to us directly at contact@koch-co.in and we will assist you with the process.
+What's included with the price?
Our pricing includes one pair of shoes, silk shoe bags, and our signature pull drawer box. At the time of placing your order, you will have the option to purchase our shoe essentials kit, which includes a brass shoe horn, leather shoe balm, extra shoelaces, and wooden shoe trees for an additional cost.
+Where do you currently ship to?
We offer free shipping and returns within India. For countries outside India, please get in touch with us directly via contact@koch-co.in.

+Why did you decide to launch a footwear brand?
We were disappointed with the current market, and believed there was nothing out there that could beat the quality and cost we knew we could get from our manufacturers in Agra.
+Where did the name come from?
We are proud of our heritage: the Kochhers have been in the shoe industry for over three generations now. We launched Koch & Co. as a nod to our past, but also to redefine ourselves as a contemporary start-up.
+What is your design philosophy?
As our shoes are crafted for longevity, we thought it was important to keep our designs classic and timeless, while keeping in mind our modern consumers. We know how difficult it is to pick a pair of shoes, so we wanted to keep it simple and pick four classic designs: the Monk Strap, Derby, Oxford Brogue, and Loafer.
+Where can I buy your shoes?
We currently sell directly online only, but we are working on future partnerships to make our shoes available in store as well.
+What is your mission?
We believe in practising slow fashion and slowing the rate of consumption. We strive to produce high quality shoes that are durable and made to last, while promoting the traditional crafting methods of our skilled artisans and helping provide fair and sustainable environments for all our craftsmen.
We believe beautiful shoes shouldn't come at the expense of others, so we personally visit our producers' manufacturing sites to check that conditions are safe and no child labour is used.
+Do you plan to launch more collections?
Our philosophy is to carefully curate our shoes and produce only timeless designs that age well, helping eliminate the paradox of choice. We will gradually add more designs with each coming season.
